Exercise #1 - Core Values

"This exercised brought fulfillment and joy into my life in areas where there was NONE. Everyone needs to do this!"

You have core values, whether you realize it or not. Today, you'll discover what they are!

The more you understand yourself, the easier it gets to make all aspects of your life more fulfilling and peaceful.

Let's do an exercise. Grab a pen and a piece of paper. Even if you have done this before, this is a great thing to do regularly because we are constantly growing and evolving.

1. Look at the list of core values at the end of this blog. Write down any words that resonate with who you are and what you believe in.

2. Start narrowing down your list by grouping like-words together.

3. Ultimately, you want to end up with five.

It may feel difficult to narrow it down to only 5, but don't stress too much about it. These aren't set in stone, and may change as you move through life.

Once you find your five core values, write them on a post-it and stick them where you can see them!

Now think about all areas of your life.

Where do you feel the least fulfilled?

(Work, relationship, family, friends, exercise routine, health, etc.)

Find where you feel least fulfilled, and look back at your values. Which values are lacking in that area of your life?

How can you bring more of that value into that area?

For example, if you hate working out, but you have a core value of connection, then you may do really well finding a small gym with a community. You may prefer working out with other people. If you don't have connection to others when working out but it's something you need, I'm not surprised you don't like it!

Have fun, and good luck!

My values are Balance, Service, Connection, Growth, and Freedom.

What are yours?

Christina
